The Transatlantic
The Transatlantic
A rare, delicious Blended Grain Scotch that could easily be twinned, if sampled blind, with the finest of American Bourbon. Sweet and woody, this drop will reward on every aspect of taste.
"Out of all eight whiskies in the 2024 collection, The Transatlantic (9/10) sums up House of Hazelwood’s ethos the best...Blind-tasted, even the most seasoned of whisky drinkers would have a hard time identifying this as a Scotch and not a bourbon."
Alex Martin
The Finer Details
Celebrating the best of Scottish and American whisk(e)y-making this truly unique release brings together the majestic rich character of old Scotch grain whisky with the intense sweet spice notes drawn from an extensive 8-year finishing period in virgin American oak. The combination is compelling – creating a weighty, decadent style with a lively Transatlantic character all its own that captures the essence of both the Scottish North and the American South.
Nose
A clear descendant of American oak, the nose offers up rich buttery popcorn, drizzled in golden syrup, before maturing into green olive vines.
Palate
The palate presents a creamy mouthfeel, sweetly candied, reminiscent of rainbow drops or candy corn. A clear wood influence makes itself known, with bursts of fresh oak readily apparent, topped with recently carved pencil shavings.
